
He is one of America’s most dynamic and eclectic musical leaders, having worked with numerous GRAMMY-winning artists and composers in many genres. As a conductor, performer, or recording producer for dozens of albums and broadcasts, his music has been estimated to reach over 50 million people in 175 countries. His award-winning compositions have been recorded by world-class ensembles and are published by Cane River Music. In 2016, he was chosen to lead the Hallmark Channel’s broadcast of America’s National Christmas Tree Lighting Concert at the White House, featuring former U.S. President and First Lady Obama and a line-up of celebrity GRAMMY-winning artists including Garth Brooks, James Taylor and Kelly Clarkson.
A finalist for the American Prize in conducting, he was also the sole-recipient of the 2007 Chautauqua Summer Music Festival Orchestra and Opera Conducting Fellowship in New York. His military musical leadership earned the highest international award by the John Philip Sousa Foundation and led to being among the honored recipients of the National Medal of the Arts, the highest honor given to artists by the United States government.
Committed to education, he has served on three university faculties, provided leadership to nearly a dozen public school music programs, has been published with industry-leading journal essays and newspaper arts columns, and is nationally sought-after as a preeminent expert on music adjudication methods.
Since 2017 he has served as the Music Director and Conductor for Symphonicity, the symphony orchestra for Virginia's largest city, Virginia Beach.
